To ensure you have the opportunity to provide feedback to your leader and our doctors, you will be asked to complete an anonymous “Willingness to Recommend” survey each quarter. This survey is seen as a tool for your leader’s and doctor's continuous growth, and it’s important for them to find out what’s working well and what could make your work experience more meaningful.
Providing feedback can be challenging, but it’s the secret sauce to creating a positive and productive work environment here at Vance Thompson Vision. Our hope is that you provide caring, constructive feedback that is honest, specific, and actionable. Below are some suggested recommendations for providing feedback in a way that shows our positive commitment to one another:
Be kind and provide encouragement;
Give concrete advice, and be specific with your feedback by providing relevant examples;
Be honest about performance, while concentrating on what you can achieve together;
Avoid bias, and strive for consistency and fairness;
Focus on the individual, and consider giving words of motivation.
Attendance, Punctuality, and Dependability
Attendance, punctuality, and dependability are important components of our culture at Vance Thompson Vision. By showing up on time and being a dependable employee, you are helping our organization thrive, and it allows us to provide an exceptional experience for our patients!
Communicating Absences
Employees are asked to openly communicate with their leader to notify them of any absences, delayed arrivals, or requests to leave early. Depending on the reason for the absence, employees may be asked to provide written documentation from their medical provider to support absences due to illness or injury. Repeated patterns of tardiness or unscheduled absenteeism can negatively impact our daily operations and ultimately impact patient care, so please know that there is the possibility of us using disciplinary action as a way to address the issue. Every effort should be made to be at work during your scheduled shift.
Inclement Weather
During times of inclement weather, all employees are encouraged to prioritize their safety, and consider what’s in their best interest. If a clinic and/or surgery center location closes due to inclement weather, employees have the option to use their paid time off or go unpaid for the time. Depending on business needs, employees may have the option to make up the lost time during the scheduled work week.
