Dr. Carissa Hintz – Optometrist

Hobbies & Personal Interests

In her spare time, Dr. Hintz enjoys getting outside as much as possible and finding new trails to hike. She also enjoys playing piano, spending time with friends and family, and staying active.

Extracurricular Involvement

While studying at Pacific, she earned membership into the Beta Sigma Kappa honor society and held many leadership positions. She is now a member of the Minnesota Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.

Dr. Hintz grew up in rural North Dakota and attended North Dakota State University in Fargo, ND, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Zoology and minored in chemistry. She earned her doctorate from the Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, OR, before going on to pursue a Fellowship specializing in ocular and refractive surgery at Chu Vision Institute in Bloomington, MN.

Meet Dr. Hintz

Dr. Carissa Hintz is a fellowship-trained optometrist who specializes in the management of cataract, glaucoma, and oculoplastic surgery. She joined Vance Thompson Vision in Alexandria, MN in 2020 to help manage treatment plans and surgical cases. She previously worked at an ophthalmology practice, Chu Vision Institute, in Bloomington, MN specializing in cataract, glaucoma, cornea, and refractive surgery.
