Meet Dr. Walton
As an optometrist for Vance Thompson Vision in Omaha, Dr. Kristen Walton manages pre- and post-operative care for patients with ocular disease and who have had refractive surgery.
Serving others is a big part of Dr. Walton’s life. Her desire to help others has led her to perform comprehensive eye exams for children in Jamaica as a member of the Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH). She also volunteered regularly with the Special Olympics Opening Eyes Event.
Dr. Walton earned her Doctor of Optometry Degree from Indiana University School of Optometry where she was inducted as a council member of the Golden Key International Honor Society and into the Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society.
While in optometry school, Dr. Walton gained clinical experience and knowledge at four different rotation sites throughout the United States: the Indianapolis Eye Care Center, Gundersen Health System Eye Clinic in Decorah, IA, Tallahassee Outpatient Clinic VA Hospital, and the River Valley Eye Professionals clinic in Northfield, MN. During these rotations, she was exposed to a wide range of patient care modalities with specialties in ocular disease and contact lenses.
In her free time, Dr. Walton enjoys camping, kayaking, water skiing, cross-country skiing, cooking, and reading.
