Dr. Brooke Messer – Optometrist

Meet Dr. Messer

Dr. Brooke Messer is passionate about educating patients and colleagues alike. She joined the Vance Thompson Vision team in Fargo, ND in 2020 and is focusing on the management of cataract, glaucoma, cornea, and refractive surgery.

Dr. Messer routinely manages patients with keratoconus and postsurgical corneas using corneal and scleral gas permeable lenses, as well as custom soft lens designs. She is certified to fit EyePrintPRO scleral lenses for complex vision and ocular surface needs. She also has a special interest in myopia control and orthokeratology contact lenses. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and Scleral Lens Education Society and is an advisor to the Gas Permeable Lens Institute.

Dr. Messer grew up in Dickinson, ND, and attended the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She completed her doctorate and residency specializing in cornea and specialty contact lenses while at the Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton, CA.

Hobbies & Personal Interests

Outside of work, Dr. Messer and her husband, Bryan, stay busy chasing after their two children. She enjoys golfing, fishing, and visiting family back in her hometown.
