From a young age, Dr. Sieps has aspired to help and support others. While shadowing a local eye doctor, she discovered that optometry both fascinated her and fulfilled her need to serve others – from creating connections with patients to improving their quality of life.
Dr. Sieps received her undergraduate education in her hometown of Lincoln, NE. She graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with her degree in nutrition and health sciences. From there, she went on to graduate summa cum laude from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. While studying for her optometry credentials, Dr. Sieps earned several awards, including the Eschenbach Optik Low Vision Student Award and the Outstanding Clinician Award.
Most recently, Dr. Sieps trained as an ocular disease resident in Louisville, KY at Bennett and Bloom Eye Centers, where she also practiced full-scope medical optometry. Now, as Dr. Sieps continues her work at Vance Thompson Vision, she is eager to contribute to what she calls “an awesome, supportive community.”
When Kelly isn’t in the clinic, she’s spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys relaxing with a good book and keeping active.
