Dr. Laura Holtz’s passion for science—everything from biology to outer space—and admiration of the Star Trek doctors led her to the rewarding field of healthcare. Alongside being an optometrist with research interests in ocular diseases such as keratoconus, she is proud to be a certified EMT.
Her recent position as an extern at Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation in Bethel, AK, allowed her to care for patients and perform exams in a hospital setting. She was awarded honors in clinical rotations on neuro-ophthalmic disease, primary care, and contact lenses.
